Liverpool not near deal for Fekir

"I'm still at Lyon", Fekir responded when asked about his future at club amidst Liverpool (and Chelsea) speculation after his side's 3-0 victory over Troyes yesterday.

He would have been disappointed with that result, but didn't show it too much as he spoke to the press afterwards.

"Nabil is a very great player, if that's the case, we will be really happy to have him here", the Senegalese speed demon told SFR Sport after Liverpool's 1-0 loss to Chelsea.

We doubt Dembele would be available too considering he only just joined Barcelona in a £135.5million summer move.

'We have had no contact with Liverpool. I would be surprised about that.

Fekir has scored 22 goals and created eight more across all competitions for Lyon this season, helping his side to the verge of Champions League qualification.

We see her regularly. "Behind the scenes she's very influential with him and you're now seeing the outward manifestations". The president signed a " Be Best " proclamation after his wife's speech, and praised her for her "compassion".

Jurgen Klopp is staying tight-lipped when it comes to Liverpool's reported interest in Lyon playmaker Nabil Fekir and Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele.

"I heard these rumours. At the end of the season, we'll see, but for the moment, there's nothing". Now I am interested!

"During the game, we agreed a deal?!" said the Reds boss.

Fekir has always been heralded as one of the most talented players in French football, but questions marks have often surrounded his attitude and application. However, a move to the Premier League could prove to be a lucrative proposition for the player, who is yet to play for an English club.

Slotting Fekir into a starting lineup that also includes Mane, Salah, Firmino and the incoming Naby Keita may require a tactical shift from Klopp, with the Lyon captain best as a No. 10.
