I'll arrive at Ibrox as a natural leader, says Scott Arfield

Alfredo Morelos of Rangers arrives at the stadium prior to the Scottish Cup Semi Final match between Rangers and Celtic at Hampden Park

Scott Arfield has officially been paraded as a Rangers player, and the midfielder has revealed he turned down interest to stay in England in order to join Steven Gerrard's revolution in Govan.

'We go up to Glasgow and we will give it our best'.

Having played in the Scottish league with Falkirk between 2007 and 2010, it is believed that Arfield will not struggle to adapt to his new surroundings.

The Canadian flew into Glasgow Airport this morning and has passed a medical, despite missing the last 11 games of Burnley's season with a calf strain.

If Nicholl was to remain, it would be interesting to see what position he would be given by Gerrard, with Gary McAllister brought in as the Liverpool legend's assistant.

Former Liverpool star and current Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has completed his first summer signing. If you don't get excited by it you shouldn't walk through the front door.

"I was lucky enough to play against him (Gerrard) and it was one of the highlights of my career".

After five seasons at Burnley, Arfield arrives with a wealth of experience for a Rangers side looking to mount a serious challenge to arch rivals Celtic.

When asked about his memories of facing Gerrard, he said: "Getting beat, getting overrun, and I remember coming off the pitch thinking I'm not as good as I first thought".

"I said cheerio to them yesterday but I think I'll be seeing them in three weeks or something", said Arfield.

"He is a talented and competitive midfielder who has competed at a high level in the English Premiership and internationally for Canada".
