Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 launches October 12th for PS4, Xbox, and PC!
Activision and Treyarch have unveiled new details on the PC version of Call of Duty Black Ops 4, confirming support for this edition of the game with 4K, HDR technology, and the framerate unlocked.
Blizzard's Aaron Ponoroff added that Black Ops 4 will be "fully integrated with all of the social features on Battle.net". In fact, it's better. A while back it was rumored that Black Ops 4 would lack a campaign but, like any rumor, it should be taken with a grain of salt. This is by far our biggest investment in weapons platform and combat systems that we've made, to give you the most rewarding and visceral experience by pushing the state-of-the-art of weapons' visuals, animations, and sound effects. The multiplayer mode was shown first and it actually looks like a pretty decent experience.
If anything a year ago showed us that campaigns are not dead in shooters. In the trailer, we see the heroes fighting zombies in Ancient Rome (perhaps inspired by the abandoned Call of Duty: Roman Wars concept?), the doomed Titanic, and Alcatraz. All were critically acclaimed and very enjoyable.
"It's something that a lot of people at the studio play". Not offering any type of single-player experience in a franchise renowned for its excellent campaigns is a bad oversight. Well, minus the massive player count, because Treyarch is undecided yet on just how many players it'll allow into any given session of Blackout.
Black Ops 4 will see stiff competition in this segment, thanks to a myriad of titles available in the market right now that are following this trend and nearly all of them share player bases with what are arguably the most popular ones in this genre - Fortnite and PUBG. It is official that Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will not have a campaign this year and boy are some fans mad.
One could argue that the extra zombie content is Activision's attempt to make up for the lack of a single-player campaign, but it's good news for those who primarily seek the zombie element. Why can't Call of Duty do this as well?
Players are strong on their own, but unstoppable as a team, especially when they combine Specialists in strategic ways to work together.
Activision and Treyarch are taking a huge gamble here.
The mode will feature a map "100x bigger" than a standard Call of Duty map and utilizes the new manual health regen feature. Because you just know that the 2019 COD title will be Modern Warfare 4. Maybe this is their response to the success of the likes of Fortnite and PUBG.
"I think right now for what our goals were for Black Ops 4, it's this (Blackout)".
The answer to the last question is a definite yes. There will also be others like Alex Mason and Raul Menendez, who appeared in Call of Duty: Black Ops II. With a unique combination of well-made gameplay and an interesting premise that only Call of Duty can offer, it's sure to catch the eyes of many battle royale fans.
Honestly though, should anyone be surprised?
