Part of macOS 10.14 Mojave was an updated Mac App Store. The updated OS will include new protections for how apps access data from the camera and microphone as well as users' Mail and Messages database. Unlike Windows, it seems users of Apple software will see the dark theme more widespread than Windows apps are. In previous versions of macOS, you were able to make your dock and menu bar darker, but other interface elements blinded you with whiteness.

In order to cutdown on desktop clutter (you know; photos, documents, spreadsheets, etc. strewn all over), Apple has introduced Desktop stacks.

The macOS Mojave release date is scheduled for this fall, most likely in September or October, and as usual will be a free update.

Sticking with the desktop, Apple introduced desktop stacking in Mojave - letting users automatically stack desktop items into piles of similar content.

After announcing iOS 12 earlier this afternoon, Apple moved on to its macOS desktop operating system. The one tease Apple did give us, however, is to share that some of the new macOS apps like Voice Memos and Stocks - which are coming in macOS Mojave this year - are really iOS apps that have been ported over using these new features.

European stocks close higher as Italian, Spanish indexes jump on political developments
After stripping out the volatile items of energy, food, alcohol and tobacco, inflation only rose to 1.1 percent from 0.7 percent. Italy's 2-year bond yield spiked some 80 basis points to 1.937 percent, its highest since late 2013, according to Reuters data.

Adobe (adbe)CTO Abhay Parasnis came on stage and said that Adobe is supporting the new AR file format and that Photoshop users will be able to tweak and modify the AR imagery. The announcement that Apple News would be coming to the Mac was also spoiled by the leak. The technique, called fingerprinting will be more hard under Mojave, which will report more generic hardware and software characteristics than in the past.

The Mac App Store is getting a complete overhaul, complete with a Discovery tab, video previews, new product pages, and a dedicated "Rating and Reviews"-type hub, where you can read reviews, write your own reviews, and see responses from developers". The feature will be available on iOS and macOS and work on iPhone, iPad and Mac. That new file format is USDZ, and it's made to work with multiple apps.

Finally, Apple is improving the screenshot functionality of MacOS, taking a screenshot will now pop up a window like that in iOS which will allow you to markup and edit file. A public beta is scheduled to start in June, for all users. During the keynote, Craig Federighi demonstrated both features, which should make inserting images and documents into a Mac app easier than trying to use the Mac's camera.

Clearly, Apple is now thinking more in terms of offering the software that offers the best user experience across all its devices, whatever be the size of the screen.
