Max Kellerman makes controversial LeBron James claim about Steph Curry

The Golden State Warriors are now enjoying a luxurious 3-0 series lead advantage over the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2018 NBA Finals, thanks to the incredible performance of Kevin Durant on Wednesday.

A historic 51-point Game 1 performance from LeBron James wasn't enough to top the defending champions, and Game 2 showcased just how hard it is to beat a team with Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson all shooting the lights out. All 13 of the previous teams to go up 3-0 in the NBA Finals went on to win; eight of them in sweeps.

Naturally, the talk on Thursday in the player press conferences was about Durant's performance.

"I'm sure LeBron wouldn't accept that", said Kevin Durant, when faced with the possibility of James winning Finals MVP as a member of a losing team, according to Connor LeTourneau of The San Francisco Chronicle.

Warriors forward Andre Iguodala, the 2015 NBA Finals Most Valuable Player, returned to Golden State's lineup after being sidelined by a left leg bone bruise.

"That wasn't the same shot", James told reporters in Cleveland. "There's not really much pressure on them".

Game three of the National Basketball Association finals will take place tonight between the Golden State Warriors and the Cleveland Cavaliers.

With the game hanging in the balance, Durant delivered an all-time, ice-in-his-veins pull-up three-pointer to effectively end the Cavs season. They took a 122-103 victory. Moreover, Durant also was a ideal 7-for-7 from the foul line and grabbed 13 rebounds to go with seven assists.

The Warriors will be able to use the mid-level exception again next season, although the player they use it on remains to be determined.

Golden State's first chance to wrap up the title will come on Friday night at the same court.

Curry called Durant's zone "supreme self confidence".

"It's nearly like playing the Patriots", James said after the game.

But when the Warriors' system fails, Durant is the lifeboat - one they didn't have in 2015 and 2016, when the offense revolved around Curry. "So just get back to work tomorrow and figure out a better game plan". "I want a [championship]". He rewarded Lue with 15 points and a strong game. Curry has downplayed his interest in the award, but his fourth quarter explosion in Game 2 following an altercation with Cleveland's Kendrick Perkins showed a competitive fire that is rarely on public display from Curry. They knew where Durant was trying to get to and when he would pull up, but their contests didn't matter.
