Throw away pre-cut melon, CDC warns in multistate salmonella outbreak

So far, 60 people infected with the outbreak strain have been reported in five states, including 32 cases in MI.

Pre-cut melon purchased at Kroger, Jay C or Payless stores in IN and MI.

A multi-state Salmonella outbreak has been linked to pre-cut melons sold at Missouri and Illinois Walmart stores, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH).

IL cases range in age from 23 to 87 years and officials say cases have been reported in all regions of the state. It's recommended that you do not eat any pre-cut melons from Walmart stores anywhere in the state. Other grocery stores could be added to the list. For some people, though, the diarrhea that accompanies the illness may be severe and require hospitalization.

On Thursday, the CDC and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration informed The Kroger Co. that multiple illnesses have been reported in connection with the outbreak, and a third-party supplier is cooperating with the investigation.

James also argued that winning a championship is "way bigger than getting to the White House, especially with [Trump] in there". His sentiment was shared by rival Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry , who said in an interview: " I agree with 'Bron ".

Elderly people, infants and anyone with weak immune systems are more likely to have a severe illness.

"If you don't remember where you bought pre-cut melon, don't eat it and throw it away". Sorry. We just want to make sure you don't get sick.

Retailers should not sell or serve recalled pre-cut melon products distributed by Caito Foods Distribution, Gordon Food Service, and SpartanNash Distribution.

Symptoms of a salmonella infection can appear within 12 to 72 hours of being exposed.
