South Korea Vs. Mexico Betting

Mexico coach Juan Carlos Osorio

Tottenham Hotspur's Son Heung Min scored against them.

Mexico coach Juan Carlos Osorio said he prepared more for the match against South Korea than for the game against Germany.

Javier Hernandez and Miguel Layun of Mexico celebrate their team's victory in the World Cup match against South Korea on June 23, 2018, in Russian Federation.

Mexico built on their opening game victory over Germany by beating South Korea 2-1 in Rostov-on-Don, thanks to a penalty strike from Carlos Vela and a second-half goal from Javier Hernandez.

Conditioned by the dry heat that has been a feature of every game at the Rostov Arena, Mexico did not quite have the same thrust and energy as against Germany although they still controlled most of the play and looked far more risky.

The forward scored from the spot in the 26th minute after defender Jang Hyun-soo handled the ball while sliding to block an Andres Guardado cross.

Vela nearly turned provider two minutes later with a neat ball into Layun, but the former Watford man lashed his effort over from close range.

It's the 50th career worldwide goal for Hernandez, known as "Chicharito".

Meanwhile, South Korea were condemned to an early exit after losing their opening two matches despite Heung-Min Son scoring a spectacular consolation strike in stoppage time.

Mexico had their second of the game in the 66th minute, however, when Hernandez collected a super pass from Lozano before finishing low into the bottom corner of the net to register his 50th global goal.

South Korea will face Germany at the same time in Kazan.

The criticism of Mexico's national team heading into the World Cup was loud and scathing.

Mexico has reached the round of 16 in six straight World Cups, but the team has not advanced to the quarterfinals since playing at home in 1986.

South Korea will be eliminated if Sweden wins or draws.

Mexico so far is one of the teams that has a flawless run in the campaign and has conceded just one goa.
