We Finally Know Why Ant-Man Wasn’t In Avengers: Infinity War

'Ant-Man and the Wasp': Should you stick around after the credits?

Marvel's latest film, Ant-Man and the Wasp was released in USA theatres on Friday, one week before we'll get to see it in India.

According to a Vox article, Ant-Man and the Wasp has two end credits scenes - one appearing during the mid-credits and another at the very end, as has been typical of Marvel movies.

But the movie's first end-credits scene seems to take place the day that Thanos snapped his fingers and destroyed half of all life in the universe.

Avengers: Infinity War posed a lot of questions, but before, during, and after there was one repeatedly being asked: 'Where's Ant-Man?'

Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Douglas, and Hannah John-Kamen - who star as Ant-Man, the Wasp, Dr. Hank Pym, and Ghost, respectively - all feature in the video.

We won't spoil the scene here. Scott shrinks down to a tiny size in order to enter the Quantum Realm and retrieve samples. Sometimes they're super-dramatic reveals, or shocking teases for the upcoming films. and sometimes, it's an ant playing drums. We're taken to the Lang house-eerily deserted, with the TV cut to an emergency broadcasting channel. That matters because just seconds after Scott successfully makes the jump, he suddenly finds himself out of communication with the team back in the normal sized universe operating the device's control panel. But while he is in the Quantum Realm, he loses contact with the Pym family.

The second post-credits scene, featuring a giant ant playing the drums, manages to be both amusing and chilling, before the movie ends with a reassuring statement - "Ant-Man and The Wasp will return" - that quickly turns ominous when a question mark appears at the end, rendering that observation a little less certain. Combine that with Janet's warning about the time vortex, and we have to wonder if Scott is gonna be involved in some time-travel shenanigans come Avengers 4. Scott is stuck in the Quantum Realm.

Still with us? This Reddit post from "r/MarvelStudiosSpoilers" concerns the dying moments of Ant-Man and the Wasp's credits stinger, in which Scott Lang comes to the realization that he's trapped in the Quantum Realm without a paddle. Failing that, it's certainly more than possible that the quantum particles are a way in which the Stones can be reliably counteracted; even if people were literally reduced to dust, if quantum particles can alter the fabric of reality, what's to say they couldn't reach into an alternate universe and pull a new version of a vaporized person back into our dimension?
