George Clooney hospitalized after auto hits his scooter in Italy

George Clooney was taken to hospital for treatment after a motorcycle accident in Sardinia, Italian media has reported. And it wasn't a minor accident either.

Carabinieri officer Alberto Cicognani was the driver of the Mercedes auto that hit Clooney after failing to stop at a turn, as reported by CNN. He was reportedly heading to the set when he was struck by the vehicle. Like a awful scene in a movie.

Though the father of two wasn't seriously hurt, that didn't stop fans from worrying, with one turning to Twitter to say: "I saw George Clooney trending and nearly had a heart attack", while another declared: "George Clooney should not be tampered with 2018!"

According to NBC reporter Claudio Lavanga, the Sardinia hospital where Clooney was being treated has already discharged the actor. "He is recovering at his home and will be fine".

At the work front, George Clooney will be seen in the Hulu series Catch-22, for which he is now shooting. Hopefully their 13-month-old twins will give him some peace and quiet.

The publication states that according to La Nuova Sardegna, George was hit by the vehicle after it suddenly changed direction, taking him by surprise. You don't mess with Amal Clooney. Hopefully it won't have any permanent damage on George Clooney and that he will continue to act for years to come. "He was probably enjoying a wonderful afternoon, and as soon as he crested the hill and got this handsome view Manhattan, he gets into this accident".
