Why Twitter wont ban Trump even after threatening Iran

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani warned the United States on Sunday that it could shut down worldwide oil shipments in the strategic Strait of Hormuz if Washington continued to provoke Tehran.

Trump was responding to remarks Rouhani made to a group of Iranian diplomats that suggested POTUS should not "play with the lion's tail [as] this would only lead to regret".

Pompeo later tweeted that the government in Tehran and the Revolutionary Guards - the regime's elite armed body - had "plundered the country's wealth" in proxy wars "while Iranian families struggle".

Trump has a history of firing off heated tweets that seem to quickly escalate long-standing disputes with leaders of nations at odds with the U.S. "BE CAUTIOUS!" he tweeted.

Ahead of Trump's Twitter-posted threat, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo launched a rhetorical assault on Iran's leaders on Sunday, comparing them to a "mafia" and promising unspecified backing for Iranians unhappy with their government.

Bolton also warned in May during an interview on CNN's "State of the Union" that it was "possible" the USA may impose sanctions on European companies that keep doing business with Iran.

As part of that move, the Trump administration last month said all countries must stop importing Iranian oil by November or face sanctions.

After President Trump withdrew from the Iranian Nuclear deal, Hassan Rouhani continually expressed his displeasure over the decision to withdraw from the deal it broke in 2015.

New Fiat Chrysler boss must deliver Marchionne plan
From 2015, he also led Ram , producing big pick-ups and vans under the Chrysler badge after it and Fiat had merged in 2014. Another position vacated by Marchionne was as Chairman of truck and tractor maker CNH Industrials.

Although Iran and European signatories have been scrambling to save the deal, many Western companies and banks have stopped doing business in Iran amid fears they could be targeted by a reapplication of USA sanctions.

"He is not in a position to act against Iran", said General Gholam Hossein Gheypour, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.

Iran has rejected talks with the U.S., and Mr Rouhani has accused the USA of stoking an "economic war".

And Virginia Sen. Tim Kaine, the 2016 Democratic vice-presidential candidate, called the Twitter blast from the White House "another warning sign that Trump is blundering toward war with Iran".

Meanwhile, Trump's tweet was reverberating across the Mideast. "And he's going to stand up and make sure we're protecting Americans and certainly protect the world from nuclear proliferation", Sanders added.

In the speech at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum, Pompeo castigated Iran's political, judicial and military leaders, accusing several by name of participating in widespread corruption.

Mr Pompeo said: "The proud Iranian people are not staying silent about their government's many abuses". Iran was a close ally of the United States up until the revolution. Still, there has been little tangible progress in a global push to rid North Korea of its nuclear weapons program since the historic Trump-Kim Jong Un summit on June 12.

"The United States under President Trump will not stay silent either", he said.
