Demi Lovato Reportedly Suffering Complications After Overdose

Demi Lovato's representatives say initial reports alleging she had suffered a heroin overdose contained information that

Late last week, a source told E! that Demi is headed to rehab as soon as she's discharged.

Lovato was rushed to the hospital last Tuesday (July 24) after her apparent overdose.

"Wilmer has spent hours at the hospital with Demi every day", a source told People.

"We don't know exactly [which] drugs Demi was using, but for her to be in the hospital for six days sort of suggests to me that they're detoxing her off of an an opiate or a benzo [diazepine], such as Xanax or Valium, and they didn't want to release her until she's gotten these drugs out of her system", Samuels explained.

One of those "trusted" friends includes ex-boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama.

Our thoughts go out to her.

While no papers have been filed yet, Radar Online shares that Demi's mother, Dianna Hart, is doing everything in her power to make sure that her daughter gets better, according to an insider.

"It's only family and very close, trusted friends she's surrounding herself with right now", a source close to the singer told Yahoo Entertainment.

"This time, Demi didn't listen and Phil chose to part ways with her", the source added. "I have not said anything about this situation until now because her recovery has been of the most importance".

'The overdose has been a wakeup call to Demi that she needs to get more serious about her sobriety and is telling friends and family she will do everything it takes to get back to the awesome place she was in before she slipped'.

While her family's statement said some of the information in early reports was incorrect, she was reportedly given Narcan, an emergency treatment for narcotic overdoses, before she was taken to the hospital.

The "Tell Me You Love Me" singer has been open about her addiction troubles in the past, talking about her life battles in Simply Complicated.
