Man Steals Shark From San Antonio Aquarium in Baby Stroller

This is What's Trending Today...

Authorities on Tuesday identified one of the fishnappers who admitted stealing a shark from the San Antonio Aquarium and sneaking it outside in a stroller.

The less than one year-old female shark, nicknamed Miss Helen, was netted by one of the supects from an interactive tank in the aquarium where visitors are allowed to touch the fish in it.

The theft happened at the San Antonio Aquarium in Texas.

"Every animal is important to us and to have one taken right out of the aquarium, everybody, all of the staff, were just extremely upset".

Police found the three suspects Monday night and returned Miss Helen to the aquarium.

Over 1800 United States child migrants reunited
Others also said the forms were hard to understand due to a language barrier or misinformation from immigration officials. Another 94 children had parents whose locations were under review and 7 children were impacted by a separate court case.

The "great shark heist," as people are calling it, was captured on surveillance video. Salvaggio said that he doesn't think the man tried to sell the shark, but wanted to keep it as a pet because he had a variety of other sea creatures in his garage. He appears to be holding a blanket. Two men and a woman with a infant wandered through the facility with a baby stroller in tow. The group exits together.

For Miss Helen, Saturday began like any other day.

A shark was dressed up as a baby, put into a pushchair, and stolen from an aquarium in broad daylight. They want to make sure she's re-acclimated to the environment before they return her to her tank.

"He had had one of these in the past", Leon Valley Police Chief Joseph Salvaggio said, according to local KSAT TV News. It's not yet clear if the woman seen with them will face charges as well. Miss Helen was allegedly taken July 28. The man told police he had had a horn shark of his own, but the animal died.

"The Leon Valley Police Department Criminal Investigations Division has been in contact with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) investigators concerning the theft of this marine animal".
