Prosecutors grant immunity to longtime Trump finance chief

Michael Cohen President Donald Trump's personal attorney arrives on Capitol Hill in Washington Tuesday Sept. 19 2017. Cohen is schedule to testify before the Senate Intelligence Committee in a closed session

Michael Cohen's lawyer is admitting he lied and is walking back claims he made about President Trump, saying he "misspoke".

There is no indication their cooperation extends beyond the scope of the Cohen probe. Trump told Fox News in an interview set to air Thursday that the payments "didn't come out of the campaign, and that's big".

It was not clear whether Weisselberg's deal required him to offer testimony in matters not pertaining directly to the Cohen case.

"Even on the Trump supporters" side, people will say, 'Love the policies, ' like I do, 'Love where we're going with economic growth, ' but I don't like all of the tweets and all of the nasty language that he uses on people".

He was summoned to testify earlier this year in the investigation into Cohen, Donald Trump's longtime former lawyer, United States media report.

It is unclear whether Mr Weisselberg discussed Mr Trump, who Mr Cohen claimed had directed him to make the payments - effectively accusing the USA president of being a co-conspirator in a crime.

Allen Weisselberg worked for the Trump Organization as an accountant in the 1970s. Separately, the NY state attorney general has filed a civil lawsuit against the Trump foundation, Trump's purported charity.

Stop using public money for first class air travel: Imran Khan
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has the support of a required number of voters, imperative for winning the presidential slot. Khan had also announced that he would forego the elaborate protocol which is accorded to the Pakistani PM.

"So that being a campaign contribution, and that is what basically Mr Cohen has already pleaded guilty to, the corporation is equally guilty, including those who operate the corporation", he added.

The Daniels payment was charged as an excessive personal contribution and the National Enquirer money was charged as an unlawful corporate contribution, both "for the principle objective of influencing the election", Cohen said in court.

Republican Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell brushed past reporters Wednesday without answering questions about Cohen or the possibility that the lawyer's accusations about an illegal campaign cover-up are grounds for impeachment proceedings against Trump.

Vanity Fair's Gabriel Sherman has released a new article citing numerous sources who say that Cohen's plea deal and Paul Manafort's conviction have caused Trump to become increasingly erratic and temperamental around the White House.

The tabloid has been criticised for burying stories about Trump's dalliances with Playboy model Karen McDougal and pornographic actress Stormy Daniels.

Cohen was prosecuted by the U.S. attorney's office for the southern district of NY, acting on a referral by special counsel Robert Mueller. The jury found Manafort guilty on five charges of filing false income tax returns, one count of failing to report foreign bank accounts and two counts of bank fraud.

In other words, Mariotti's suggestion here assumes that Manafort simply wanted to avoid a second trial on the charges against him without cooperating. Federal prosecutors have the option to try him again on those charges or accept what they've got.
