Apple to Unveil New iPhones Next Month

New iPhone X 2018

First, the event: Apple's invite requests recipients join the company for a special event Wednesday, Sept. 12, at the Steve Jobs Theater on its Cupertino campus. It is also expected to have bezels slightly thicker than those pricier models, as well as a single rear-facing camera and smaller battery - though Apple's flagship A12 processor and Face ID should be featured in every new iPhone.

Apple has got all its fans, technology enthusiasts excited as the company it its invites has featured a bronze circle, but there is no other information attached to it.

Apple on Thursday night confirmed that the new iPhones will be launched on September 12. It also said the phone maker planned to release a new version of the Apple Watch, with a larger display and reduced edges. Now known - again, unofficially - as the iPhone X 6.1, it's believed to have a 6.1-inch LCD screen, unlike the OLED panels of the more expensive phones. It could expand the iPhone X design and naming across its entire phone lineup, with more sizes, colors and price points, according to Bloomberg. It could also be a hint as to what we can expect from the event - is Apple also planning to reveal a new Apple Watch with a round face, perhaps?

Mark September 12 on your calendars: that's the date when the new iPhones will be launched. The biggest change is the all-new edge-to-edge display.

What's most eye-catching, however, is that there is a new watch face that packs an incredible amount of information on-screen - in fact, it seems nearly like information overload at first glance.

In addition to the image, today's report claims that these new iPhones will both be known as "iPhone XS".

That'd make for an awfully busy day so it's entirely possible that the iPads and MacBook could be reserved for a separate event in October.

Oh, and Apple will probably finally ship the AirPower wireless charger a year after it was announced.

Apple's next big thing will make its debut on September 12.
