Mac Miller’s home scrubbed clean of drugs prior to 911 call

Mac Miller at Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival 2017- Day 1

The world was shook by the untimely death of Mac Miller on Friday (September 7), and now his former girlfriend Ariana Grande has joined the flood of stars paying homage to the 26-year-old rapper.

Following the news of Mac's death, Ariana received a torrent of hate on her Instagram from people who thought she was to blame-so much so that the comments on her Instagram account were ultimately disabled. Ariana and Mac had been friends for five years (they first collaborated on "The Way" in 2013) and had dated for two. According to Variety, the cause of death was a drugs overdose. The messages got so harsh that she had to disable the comments altogether.

Miller memorably canceled his own slate of live appearances to be by Grande's side in the wake of the tragic bombing at her concert in Manchester that left almost two dozen people dead.

Grande and Miller's love story began back in 2013 when they collaborated on her single "The Way".

Ariana was also previously blamed for Mac's auto crash less than a week after their break-up, when he fled the scene after wrecking his vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. While conflicting schedules were blamed, reports emerged that Grande was concerned over Miller's substance abuse; he was arrested for DUI the following month.

The steamy music video ended with them kissing, but at the time both she and Mac denied any claims of romance blossoming. "I want to be able to have good days and bad days", he said.

He told Rolling Stone when the album came out: "Have I done drugs?"

Another collab soon followed suit when Ari guested on Mac's song My Favourite Part that same year.

Soon after their split in May, Ari moved on with Saturday Night Live comedian Pete Davidson. His later work incorporated jazz elements and he was set to tour later this year with Thundercat, the wide-ranging bassist whose music has gone from experimental hip-hop to thrash metal.
