Two Russian nationals named as suspects in Salisbury Novichok poisoning

The poisoning of the Skripals earlier in March triggered a major diplomatic crisis between the United Kingdom and Russia

The suspects are understood to have travelled to the United Kingdom from Moscow on 2 March on Russian passports, under the aliases Alexander Petrov and Ruslan Boshirov. "There is no other line of inquiry beyond this", she added.

A man found the nerve agent in a perfume bottle and gave it to a woman who sprayed it on her wrist.

Below are excerpts from May's speech.

"We have ascertained exactly who was responsible and the methods they used", Fleming told the Billington Cyber Security Conference according to extracts released by his office. They are also charged with the use and possession of "Novichok" in violation of the Chemical Weapons Act.

What were their movements on the days leading up to the poisoning?

Police revealed that traces of Novichok were found at a hotel in London's east end where the men spent two nights.

Boshirov (L) and Petrov are shown on CCTV at Salisbury train station on March 3, 2018. The police are confident this was for reconnaissance of the Salisbury area.

The police force released a series of images of the suspects as they travelled through London and Salisbury between March 2 and March 4.

They returned to Salisbury on Sunday. It was May that alleged the men were GRU agents, it is unclear at this stage why the police didn't corroborate her claim.

The Sun reports that the 45-year-old Rowley is now totally blind and has lost the use of his limbs after being diagnosed with meningitis just weeks after he survived the attack.

The disaster killed some 19,000 people , as well as knocked out power to and swamped backup generators at the Fukushima facility. A doctor in Abira, the town next to Atsuma said: "Without electricity, there's nothing I can do except to write prescriptions".

"I'd like to reassure anyone who has bought Nina Ricci perfume from a legitimate source that they should not be concerned".

Accusing that the Russians often resort to activities of these sort, she added "Their attempts to hide the truth by pushing out a deluge of disinformation simply reinforces their culpability".

Prosecutors can not apply to Russian Federation for the men to be extradited because Russian Federation does not have extradition agreements with the UK. Moscow strongly dismissed all speculations on that score, adding that programs for developing this substance had never existed in the Soviet Union or Russian Federation.

Britain's security minister Ben Wallace called out Putin over the attack that used the nerve agent Novichok against the Skripals in Salisbury.

"And now we have identified the individuals involved, we can go even further".

Scotland Yard Counter-Terror Commissioner Neil Basu said the charging of the two Russian nationals was "the most significant moment so far in what has been one of the most complex and intensive investigations we have undertaken in counterterrorism policing".

"The GRU is a highly disciplined organisation with a well-established chain of command".

He told the BBC the pair, thought to be from Russia's military intelligence service, the GRU, were acting on orders from the "highest level" in Moscow.

Where are the suspects now?

Some say the initial work in March to get global support for diplomat/spy expulsions was tougher than it sometimes looked from the outside. "Criminal behavior GRU violates worldwide law and the regime of non-proliferation" of chemical weapons, the report says. Should this position change then an extradition request would be made.

Russian officials have said they don't recognize the suspects - whose names are believed to be aliases - and Peskov said Russia "has no reasons" to investigate them because Britain had not asked for legal assistance in the case.
