Timberwolves’ Steep Price For Jimmy Butler Hinders Trade Talks

The Wolves are seeking a combination of veterans, top prospects, future assets and cap relief. But that has proven to be "too steep" for teams interested in making a deal, including the Heat.

"So far, there's been no team close to willing to meet Thibodeau's massive return for a Butler deal", ESPN reported.

Teams all around the league reportedly have shown interest in dealing for Butler, including the Rockets as the latest to emerge as a candidate.

Marc Stein of the New York Times reported Tuesday that Butler and his agent have told the Timberwolves that he now wants to be traded to Miami. That came in a report from Marc Stein of the New York Times in which he cited National Basketball Association sources. As Woj says in the above tweet, it seems like Tom Thibodeau is likely trying to keep the asking price high in order to keep Butler on the team. Miami, however, has found it hard to get Minnesota to "clearly communicate".

Trump court nominee Kavanaugh denies accusation of third woman
Another woman, Deborah Ramirez , has accused him of sexual misconduct when she and Kavanaugh were students at Yale University. Christine Blasey Ford accused a drunken Kavanaugh of sexually assaulting her when both were teenagers at a house party.

Conflicting reports came out last week as ESPN reported Minnesota's front office was shutting down trade requests from other teams.

While there may be a mutual lovefest between the Heat and Butler, the main obstacle remains what would be included in any possible deal.

During an appearance on Boston sports radio 98.5 The Sports Hub earlier Friday, Ainge challenged the notion that Minnesota didn't give up much and suggested the package was even better than what he believed the Timberwolves offered a year ago in trade discussions with the Bulls.
However, Butler can opt out after this season.

Initially, Butler listed the Knicks, Nets and Clippers among his preferred destinations.
