US Senate heads to final vote on Kavanaugh nomination

Kavanaugh's confirmation hinges on the votes of some other key moderate senators including Sen.

The final Senate vote is expected Saturday afternoon.

Senator Dianne Feinstein of California, the Judiciary Committee's ranking Democrat, said she was disturbed by the allegations and Kavanaugh's subsequent appearance during an emotionally charged hearing last week. "If she doesn't, we absolutely have the right to prepare to unseat her given everything Judge Kavanaugh would do on the Supreme Court to make life worse for ME women, Mainers with pre-existing conditions and Mainers who care about fabric of our democracy".

Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, speaks to members of the media Friday after a vote to advance Brett Kavanaugh's nomination to the Supreme Court on Capitol Hill.

Flake joins fellow Arizona Republican Sen.

Republican Susan Collins and Democrat Joe Manchin, both regarded as swing votes, said they would support Kavanaugh.

Allegations against Kavanaugh arose late in the confirmation process that he sexually abused women decades ago.

Last point: Let's not forget that we're still waiting on these Kavanaugh documents, and Dems will look silly objecting to whatever eventually comes out if they act complacent now.

He said Friday that Manchin made "a craven political calculation" by waiting to announce his decision.

Flake later told reporters he would support confirmation unless something significant changes. "So, anyway, we did our best". The leadership will gauge how to handle it based on Friday's cloture vote.

"He's going to lock a door on our voices and we're going to have to slide notes under it?"

His game is really good. "The good news for us is we're not too bad as well, so that's why I'm looking forward to the game". Salah's output is a good return from a player who has carried Liverpool's main threat in nearly every game this season.

In a Quinnipiac poll issued on Monday, 48 percent of Americans said that Kavanaugh should not be confirmed to the Supreme Court, while 42 percent said he should be confirmed. The people love her, and she loves them!

The FBI interviewed Ramirez as part of a background check investigation opened by the White House. As of Friday night, she appears to be the only Republican who will vote against the judge.

"What left wing groups and their Democratic allies have done to Judge Kavanaugh is nothing short of monstrous", Republican Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley of Iowa declared before the vote. The reports involving Senator Franken are disturbing. Mr Kavanaugh has denied all the allegations.

This isn't the first time that there's been such fanfare over a Collins decision. Murphy believes that boys and men of all ages are now at risk of having their lives sabotaged by false accusations, adding that she thinks all conservatives are now being targeted because of their beliefs.

"Believe me I struggled with it for a long time", Collins said after her speech.

Grossi called claims like that "degrading, frankly", to both men and women.

"If young boys behave well and with respect, they have nothing to worry about", Grossi said.

There's no guarantee that the senators who supported moving forward will back Kavanaugh on the final vote.

Democratic Senator Edward Markey countered, saying Kavanaugh has been a "rubber stamp for a far right-wing agenda".

Brett Kavanaugh seems assured of surviving a Supreme Court nomination fight for the ages after two wavering senators said they'd back him despite weeks of shocking accusations, hardball politics and rowdy Capitol protests.

"That would be a good thing", he said. "But I do hope that it reminds us that we can take very small, very small steps to be gracious with one another".
