It’s Not You, YouTube Hit With Major Outage

YouTube videos are displaying a server error notice

YouTube, the most popular video streaming site, suffered an outage on Wednesday.

Twitter user Alex Creed pointed out the irony of passing boredom from reading YouTubeDOWN complaints by watching YouTube videos only to realize the service still had some bugs. Users experienced problems with the Google-owned website and app, as well as YouTube Music and YouTube TV services, that lasted between 6am and 8am IST.

Given the scale of the problem, it is unknown how long we will can expect a fix to take. It further said that YouTube apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and will keep you updated.

YouTube after downtime of more than two hours, is finally back online. Users across the world started to notice around 6.50 am (India time) that YouTube's desktop and mobile applications were down.

YouTube's main service was working again around 10:50 p.m. EDT.

Along with being able to carve out ad space for content developed for TV viewing, advertisers will receive television-focused analytics and special options for their ads with this YouTube update, too. Sometimes, it also displayed an error message which read, "500 Internal Server Error".

So, where were you when YouTube went down? Users who tried to access the website during this period were greeted with a blank page that showed no videos.

Thousands of users set to Twitter, only to find that they were not alone. This issue didn't impact everyone, but the social video site was well aware of the issue. "Thanks for all of your patience", YouTube said in a tweet.

This is how YouTube appears upon trying to load it, the morning of October 17, 2018, Manila time.

Philadelphia Police tweeted: "Yes, our @YouTube is down, too".
