Iran: Saudi Arabia wouldn't kill Khashoggi without U.S. blessing

US revokes 21 Saudi visas over Khashoggi death

Washington Post writer Jamal Khashoggi met with Saudi Prince Khalid bin Salman, who is the crown prince's brother and also serves as the Saudi ambassador to the USA, at the Saudi Embassy in Washington in late 2017 or early 2018, NBC News reported.

Turkish investigators have found two suitcases and other items in a Saudi consulate auto in Istanbul, as part of the investigation into the disappearance of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, broadcaster CNN Turk reported on Tuesday.

In more news from Riyadh, hackers briefly took over the official website for Saudi Arabia's Future Investment Initiative-also known as "Davos in the Desert"-as organizers prepared to host the high-profile event amid worldwide outcry over Jamal Khashoggi's murder".

The crown prince said Saudi Arabia and Turkey would work together "to reach results" in their joint investigation into Khashoggi's death, and he described cooperation between the two countries as "special".

He offered condolences to Khashoggi's family, and stated that those responsible would be held to account.

The move to banish the Saudi nationals is the first step the Trump administration has taken against the country since officials admitted Khashoggi was killed inside the Saudi Consulate in Istanbul on October 2.

The official said the deal could well be closed by the end of the year.

Saudi officials said he was accidentally strangled after getting into a fistfight with a Saudi security team.

Karen Attiah, the global opinion editor at The Post, has been particularly vocal about the situation for Khashoggi's four children, three of whom, she said, have dual USA citizenship.

Saudi Arabia's explanation has been questioned by leaders in the USA and Europe.

"As we gather here in Riyadh this morning, it is natural that our thoughts tend to focus on recent events surrounding the death of Jamal Khashoggi a writer, a journalist and a Saudi journalist known to many of us", she said.

The Attorney General of Saudi Arabia Sheikh Saud al-Muadjib said 18 nationals of the country are under investigation, whose identities have not been revealed.

Among its many investments domestically and overseas, Saudi Arabia's sovereign wealth fund, which the crown prince oversees, has invested US$20 billion in a US-focused infrastructure fund with Blackstone.

"I want to speak about the killing of Khashoggi, this fact has been established".

Saudi state media on Tuesday published photos of Jamal Khashoggi's son Salah Khashoggi with Saudi Arabia's King Salman and Prince Mohammed.

Turkish officials say the 15 men comprised a Saudi hit squad that included a member of Prince Mohammed's entourage on overseas trips.

He added: "They had a very bad original concept" and it was "carried out poorly".

An unnamed Saudi official told Reuters news agency on Sunday that Khashoggi had died in a chokehold after resisting attempts to return him to Saudi Arabia.

At a roundtable with defense contractors at Luke Air Force Base in Arizona on Saturday, Trump and his aides sought to ease top executives concerns about future Saudi arms sales, assuring them that the President would do all he could to keep them on track, the official said.

The whereabouts of Khashoggi's corpse is still unknown.

"These (15) people, from whom did they get orders.?" We are seeking answers to this. Pakistan, which is grappling with a soaring deficit, struck a deal on the sidelines of the forum with Saudi Arabia for $6 billion in aid from the oil-rich kingdom.

"The first thing they did is to remove the hard disk in the camera system of the consulate", Erdogan said.

"Why has the body of someone who was officially said to be killed not been found yet?" asked Erdogan. But he said he was confident of the full cooperation of his father Saudi King Salman in the probe and vowed full retribution for all the guilty.
