Trump says he doesn't feel betrayed by Saudis

Turkish officials have concluded a team of 15 Saudi agents was involved in the killing of Jamal Khashoggi at the Saudi Arabia Consulate in Istanbul

Turkey's chief prosecutor on Wednesday said Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi was strangled immediately after he entered Saudi consulate in general in Istanbul.

Khashoggi was killed on October 2 inside the Saudi consulate in Istanbul, Turkey, where he had gone to obtain necessary papers for his upcoming wedding.

As part of the agreement, Saudi Attorney General Saud al-Mujeb along with a delegation came to Turkey on October 28, 2018 and paid a working visit to the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office on October 29. But Turkish officials have told local media that the Saudi prosecutor has refused to share information and appears "primarily interested in finding out what evidence the Turkish authorities had against the perpetrators".

The announcement came as Mr al-Mojeb ended a three-day visit to Istanbul during which he held talks with Mr Fidan and other Turkish officials.

Abdulkadir Selvi, a well-connected pro-government columnist for Turkey's Hurriyet newspaper, accused the Saudi prosecutor of "working to save the crown prince by covering up the investigation rather than shed light on the murder".

A group of senators led by Marco Rubio, R-Fla., asked Trump to suspend civilian nuclear talks with Saudi Arabia over the Khashoggi case.

Saudi Arabia has not commented directly on the prosecutor's visit and al-Mojeb did not respond to journalists' questions at the airport as he departed.

Trump has hedged his criticism of Saudi leaders over Khashoggi, insisting he does not want to imperil a "tremendous order" of $110 billion of weapons he says will support 500,000 United States jobs - figures that experts say are highly exaggerated.

Fidan said it was a premeditated operation.

Under mounting worldwide pressure, Saudi Arabia has changed its narrative about Khashoggi's death several times.

In the process, the kingdom has placed the blame on two of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman's closest allies, deputy intelligence chief Ahmed al-Assiri and top aide Saoud al-Qahtani.

She said in reference to an alleged Saudi hit squad sent to kill the Washington Post Journalist: "If only I knew that would be the last time I would see my Jamal, his smile, hear his laughter, I would have stood in front of that murderous team myself".

According to an ABC News report on Tuesday, Khashoggi's fiancée said that Khashoggi had also entered the same consulate on September 28 in order to request the documents.

The worldwide community refused to accept the Saudi claim that the incident was not a premeditated murder.

Khashoggi's body was then dismembered and destroyed in yet another sign his killing was planned in advance, the prosecutor's office said.

"Like everyone else, I am still waiting for answers", she said.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan made the same demand yesterday. United States officials have said such a mission - including 15 men sent from Riyadh - could not have been carried out without the authorization of bin Salman, the country's de facto ruler.
