Floyd Mayweather to fight kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa in Japan

Floyd Mayweather announces next fight with key detail missing

RIZIN 14 is scheduled for December 31, 2018, live from the famed Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan.

In fact, it's not outside the realm of possibility that Mayweather will fight for the Japanese promotion.

Mayweather said the weight class and rules for the fight would be discussed "within the next couple of weeks". The weight for the contest, however, has yet to be determined.

Mayweather has signed with the federation and was present when it announced the bout at a press conference in Tokyo on Monday.

"I'm not really anxious about the weight class or rules - it's about me displaying my skills against another skilful fighter".

"I'm older now", Mayweather said.

Will you be watching? "I'll do that with these fists, with one punch - just watch", the Japanese said.

"We still have some work to do", said Nobuyuki Sakakibara, the RIZIN chairman.

Broncos ‘closing in’ on deal to trade Demaryius Thomas to Texans
The Broncos' warm feelings for Thomas might subside by Sunday when they kick off their Week 9 game against ... the Texans . The team sent a fourth round pick to the Broncos and swapped seventh round picks, according to multiple media reports.

Most recently, Nasukawa earned a unanimous decision against former UFC title contender Kyoji Horiguchi in a kickboxing bout promoted by RIZIN. I'll speak with my team and get with Rizin to come up with a great idea. However, it is certainly a possibility that Mayweather vs. Nasukawa will be a boxing match.

The fight could be the first steps towards Mayweather's highly anticipated rematch with Conor McGregor in the UFC.

Mayweather had said in September that he was coming out of retirement for another fight with Manny Pacquiao after the two of them had been pictured talking at a music festival in Japan. "When I was offered this card, I accepted it right away without any delay whatsoever". I'm a little surprised myself.

And he faces a potentially unsafe prospect in heralded kickboxer Nasukawa, who warned he has a punch that will "change history". "I would probably say this is my biggest event in life so far and I'm very happy this is going to materialize". Nobody has defeated my opponent in the past and I'd like to be the man who makes history.

Stay tuned for more information on this event as it becomes available.

'I have fought in the United States for all 50 of my fights.

ESPN reporter Ariel Helwani said it was unlikely to be an MMP bout.
