Marsha Blackburn Wins Hotly Contested Tennessee Senate Race

Laura Ingraham is rubbing it in Taylor Swift's face after the candidate the singer backed for the United States Senate lost his race in Tennessee.

Republican Marsha Blackburn, a member of Congress since 2003, was declared the victor shortly after 9:00 on Tuesday night.

Blackburn, on the other hand, was boosted by President Donald Trump, who visited the state twice to support her campaign.

Although Bredesen ran as a Democrat, he largely ran away from the national party and regularly touted his ties to the state and independence from Washington, D.C. The strategy was clear: He hoped to bank on the fact he won every county in the state in 2006 during his second run for governor and looked to tag Blackburn as a traditional Washington ideologue. This has been the most expensive Senate race in Tennessee history. Blackburn calls herself congressman, not congresswoman. Outside groups on both sides of the aisle spent millions boosting their respective candidates. Chuck Schumer for majority leader if his party took back the Senate.

I'm writing this post about the upcoming midterm elections on November 6th, in which I'll be voting in the state of Tennessee.

Trump vs. Obama in the final weekend of the midterms
A Quinnipiac University poll released Monday has Gillum leading DeSantis 50 percent to 43 percent among likely voters. Florida will be one of the first states to show results, with polls closing at 7 p.m.

But those advantages didn't extend to Blackburn, who had a 48 percent approval rating, according to that poll - 5 points lower than Bredesen. When Sen. Bob Corker retired, there was plenty of talk that the Dems would claim this seat. She backed Brett Kavanaugh for the Supreme Court the same day Trump nominated him, and criticized Bredesen for taking so long to say he would have supported Kavanaugh's confirmation as well.

She made a final plea to her fans a week before the election in another Instagram post, which has garnered 759,401 "likes", so far.

Polls close in Tennessee at 8 p.m.

"If you like whats going in Washington, and you like this sort of lines in the sand, take no prisoners, I'm not the guy".
