Pentagon Says Soldiers At Border Won’t Be Denying Entry To Asylum-Seekers

Trump’s election-eve border mission puts the military in partisan crosshairs

Reuters reported, citing usa officials, that the draft request was part of the Mexico border mission.

The location of the soldiers of the United States of America on the territorial border with Mexico will cost the country 200 million dollars by the end of this year.

The makeshift camp, surrounded by concertina wire and lighted by power generators, is serving as a military base for use by troops who are providing support services to the Border Patrol.

Trump has said of the immigrant caravan, among other things, "It's like an invasion".

This weekend, USA troops continued to work along the border with Mexico, ostensibly to protect the United States from what President Trump has called an illegal immigrant invasion. "But we're going to arrest those people quickly and for a long time".

Asked about the proposal on Monday, the Pentagon declined comment on internal administration deliberations but added that it did not receive a request from DHS to build facilities to house migrant families.

The primary tasks of the active-duty 5,200-strong contingent, expected to grow to 7,000 in the coming days, will be construction and engineering, Pentagon officials said.

"They want to throw rocks at our military, our military is going to fight back ... we will consider that a firearm" he had said on Thursday. -Mexican border to provide support, a Defense Department official told Fox News on Thursday evening.

"The rest of the day in the southwest border region would be deployed 5.2 thousand soldiers". They stay for a specified period of time has cost the country's budget of 103 million US dollars. But border patrol and local law enforcement say this is a risky area exploited by smugglers, so they welcome the help.

Trump said last week he plans to build tents to house migrants, who would be held in those facilities while the US government weighs their asylum request.

The Pentagon faced questions Monday as to why it selected thousands of active-duty forces to deploy to the border instead of sending additional National Guard. The administration says it needs to harden border security as the Central American caravan heads north. Mr. Trump has blasted illegal immigration in the past, and called for the importance of border security.

Some people living in the area are calling the move a midterm election stunt.
