OK, the Le’Veon Bell story just got turned upside-down

Which member of the Panthers would you want on the Steelers

It seems Le'Veon Bell might be attempting to divest himself from the Pittsburgh Steelers in the public eye.

The Pittsburgh Steelers running back played basketball at an L.A. Fitness club in North Pittsburgh on Tuesday night, a manager with L.A. Fitness confirmed to ESPN.

But even though Bell is in the Steel City, that doesn't mean he'll return to the Steelers.

That said, can Conner TWEET UPSIDE DOWN? Bell has sat out the first nine weeks of the regular season and has not signed his franchise tender for the season.

Reports from earlier in the season suggested Bell needed to sign with the team by November 13 if he wanted to retain his free agent eligibility following the season.

If Bell fails to report, the transition tag would be around $14.5 million, or 120 percent of his $12.1 million franchise tag from 2017, since that's the a year ago he played. As Kaboly noted, the Steelers are most likely not going to tag him at such an enormous number, which would virtually make him a free agent.

Per NFL rules, Bell must report to the Steelers by Tuesday or forfeit the whole season, as well as be subject to another franchise tag in 2019.

The Steelers running back broke his silence Wednesday on Twitter, posting a pair of upside-down tweets as he aired his grievances amid his contract holdout.

Just about everybody has an opinion on my life & anxious about what I'm doing. But most people don't take the time to simply read between the lines and that's clearly on them. Also, if you're really finding the time to figure out what I'm saying, you've proved my point.

If that's the case, no talks appeared to take place Wednesday, with ESPN reporting, "There was no indication ... that Bell had visited the team's facility".
