What Happened: Satellite imagery indicates North Korea is continuing activity at at least 13 undeclared missile bases, including some construction activity, the Center for Strategic and International Studies reported November 12.

Last week, North Korea called off a meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in NY, and state media said on Monday the resumption of some small-scale military drills by South Korea and the United States violated a recent agreement aimed at lowering tensions on the Korean peninsula.

North Korea has made a show out of de-commissioning both the Sohae satellite launch facility and the Punggye-ri nuclear testing site. however, reports by two separate groups of Chinese scientists from April suggest that the Punggye-ri site may have been decommissioned after it caused a nearby mountain to collapse.

Are these bases evidence that North Korea is cheating on the agreement it reached in June, when US President Donald Trump met North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in Singapore?

Pompeo and other US officials have said that clearly includes dismantling its entire nuclear weapons program, but North Korea has not confirmed that.

The revelations, like earlier reports on the continuation of North Korea's weapons programs, highlight the challenges of securing the complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.

The North's media claimed that the South's decision to support the resolution "evoked resentment from the Korean people", it continued.

Today, a new report from a Washington think-tank identified more than a dozen hidden bases in North Korea that could be used to disperse mobile launchers for ballistic missiles in the event of a conflict.

From 1999 to 2010 Seoul regularly sent to Pyongyang tangerines, but ceased to do so after the sinking of the South Korean Corvette Cheonan, killing 46 sailors.

However, in recent weeks, negotiations have cooled down as Pyongyang considers that it has already taken several steps but has not had the expected response from Washington, which has neither relaxed the sanctions nor cancelled its joint military manoeuvers with South Korea, something North Korea considers a provocation.

Florida Elections For Governor And U.S. Senate Heading For Recount
Florida ordered mandatory machine recounts in three statewide elections Saturday for the first time in state history. He added if there was evidence votes had not been counted they would consider further legal action.

They are created to enable mobile missile launchers to quickly exit the underground facilities and move to previously prepared launch sites.

It even identified improvements being made to its Sakkanmol site, close to the border with South Korea.

"Missile operating bases are not launch facilities", the report said.

It points to the existence of a base at Sakkanmol which is capable of holding medium-range ballistic missiles.

USA officials have largely opposed these moves to reduce military forces along the tense border, mostly because they are resisting pushes by both Koreas to quickly finalize a peace treaty.

Nort Korea "engages in an aggressive camouflage, concealment, and deception program with regard to its ballistic missile force", the CSIS report says.

"It's an anachronistic military move to openly hold war drills aimed at others while the United States naval forces residing in Japan are also participating", Rodong Sinmun said.

The report was released less than a week after North Korea abruptly called off a new round of negotiations with Pompeo that had been set for Thursday in NY.

Within the Japanese government, many believe that North Korea will not completely abandon its nuclear ambitions if the United States does not exert strong pressure on Pyongyang.
