Boy wonder: Seven-year-old earns £17m reviewing toys on YouTube

This 7-year-old toy reviewer is the highest earning YouTuber earns Rs 155 crore a year

His videos have a total of nearly 26 billion views over three years, with the most popular video on his channel seen 1.6 billion times, and the less-watched videos attracting at least 30 million views each.

"Brand partnerships, a clothing line, millions of fans: What was once exclusively the province of superstar athletes and Hollywood A-listers now includes "Markiplier", one of the world's highest-earning YouTubers, who hauled in $ 17.5 million over our 12-month scoring period", Forbes said. Turns out it's actually child's play, because among others this one particular kid made over $22 million in a year, just by making YouTube videos. The line, which Ryan heavily promotes on his YouTube channel, features a variety of slimes and putties, Ryan action figures, T-shirts and toy cars.

Coming in at second place on Forbes' annual Highest Paid YouTube Stars list was former Disney actor Jake Paul, who took home an easy $29.2 million.

However, Jake Paul still managed to have a good year, earning a career-best $21.5 million, capturing the #2 spot by beating out DudePerfect by $1.5 million. According to Forbes, the boy made a revenue of over $22 million in 2018 with his videos on YouTube.

Capitalising on his success, the mini-mogul has now launched Ryan's World - a toy and apparel collection sold exclusively at Walmart.

"I'm entertaining, and I'm amusing", he told NBC recently.

His channel, which involves him opening toys and then playing with them, has more than 17 million subscribers.

As he is still a child, 15% of Ryan's earnings are put into a bank account that he can only access when he becomes a legal adult. But it turns out doing kind-of dumb but impressive tricks is still a viable way to make money, with five-man sports crew Dude Perfect coming in at #3 with U.S. $20 million ($27,315,100).

The top five was rounded out by make-up artist Jeffree Star, who made £14.1m.
