Duchess Kate copies Meghan's style

Kate Middleton Prince William

Prince George, 5, made an adorable request of his dad Prince William when he and Duchess Kate Middleton visited a Royal Air Force base in Cyprus this week.

Kate seemed to be channeling her sister-in-law's style as she arrived in Cyprus wearing wide-legged pants, left.

She said: "When Prince William was away in the Falkland Islands he went for dinner with some good friends of ours in the Air Force and he was saying how hard it was for Kate because he was leaving for six weeks".

In the hopes of honouring the family members and kids of military personnel stationed in Cyprus, who sadly won't be home for the holidays, Prince William and Kate put on a holly jolly bash - and there may have been a few too many sweet treats...

Never failing to miss an opportunity, William later joked that his wife was in flawless colour coordination with the Christmas tree.

The families were also encouraged to take photos and write letters for their loved ones that William and Kate ended up delivering the following day.

"When William served in the Falklands or went search and rescue, I remember how it felt".

Talking about spending time away from her family at Christmas, she said: "It's emotional, I think it's easier for us out here because we just muck in together".

Prince William laughed with military personnel.

During a speech at the event, Kate spoke of how she sympathizes with families missing their loved ones this Christmas, describing her own experiences, too.

"Yesterday they were all talking about what we do at the party and I guess all the families are proud of what we do and serving". Kate was quick with her response: "You're a nightmare with that!"

Proud parents William and Kate chatted about their children, with the second in line to the throne, telling pilots: "I told George this morning we were going to see the pilots today, and he said 'If you see a helicopter can you take a picture?'"
