Steelers WR Antonio Brown wants to play with... the 49ers?

Antonio Brown

And if Roethlisberger wanted an explanation from his star wideout, one has not come: Brown is not answering his calls or texts.

The San Francisco 49ers may have finished 4-12 in 2018, while the Pittsburgh Steelers went 9-6-1 and surprisingly missed the playoffs.

Former Steelers safety and current National Football League analyst for ESPN Ryan Clark had some unflattering things to say about Brown, saying "When you give him money, you're going to create a monster", among other things.

According to Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the reason Antonio Brown did not play in the Steelers season-ending game vs. the Bengals is because he elected to sit out practice after a dispute with a teammate earlier in the week.

After that, Brown did not practice the rest of the week.

Virat Kohli gives fans a sneak peek into his New Year plans
We knew the wicket was going to deteriorate and it was going to be hard work against their disciplined attack. That is the reason we have at least retained the trophy but job is not done yet.

A source told ESPN that quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was involved in the incident with Brown, but this wasn't a head-to-head clash, and more of Brown flaming up like he has in the past.

The yearlong curious behavior of Brown - the best receiver in the history of the Steelers - that started with him unexpectedly skipping the final three weeks of OTAs during the spring and ending with him leaving Heinz Field at halftime Sunday with a fur coat on with a whole lot of nonsense in between. "I know guys that are frustrated".

Brown was listed questionable on the injury report just prior to the game.

Any deal for Brown would be an extremely hard one to pull off, though, considering he is owed over $20 million next season.

According to CBS Sports, Brown has asked the Steelers to trade him. But then they fell to the Saints the following Sunday, thanks in part to Tomlin's idiotic decision to fake punt on a 4th-and-5 with the lead late in the fourth quarter.
