Ja Rule Responds to Criticism After Fyre Festival Documentaries Debut

Viewers were outraged by what happened to Maryanne, and have been contributing in their droves to her GoFundMe page to help raise money to save her business.

His tweets come after Netflix's documentary Fyre: The Greatest Party That Never Happened renewed interest in the outrageous 2017 festival which saw hundreds head to the Bahamas for a luxurious trip - only for them to be sleeping in emergency tents and eating cheap sandwiches.

The festival was eventually indefinitely postponed on the inaugural weekend.

At this stage you've probably either watched or at least heard of Netflix's Fyre Festival documentary.

"I had to literally pay all those people", she said in the Netflix documentary.

"They had every living soul on the island of Exuma who could lift a towel working", she explained. "My life was changed forever, and my credit was ruined by Fyre Fest", she wrote on the campaign.

But in just over a week, the fund has raised more than $US146,000 ($204,254).

The Always on Time hitmaker and McFarland's festival has been dubbed the scam of the century for charging attendees between $5,000 and $250,000 per ticket, boasting shows from major acts like Major Lazer, Tyga, Pusha T, and Desiigner, only to deliver cheese sandwiches and wet tents when it was cancelled nearly immediately after it opened in Great Exuma, Bahamas, in April 2017.

Ja Rule was not arrested or charged in connection with McFarland's fraud and the rapper has denied he was involved in defrauding party-goers and locals on the island.

In another tweet, he wrote: "I too was hustled, scammed, bamboozled, hood winked, lead astray!".

Open-minded about his next destination, he is enjoying the moment with United and knows where he wants to be a year from now. Molde, Cardiff , I love working with people, trying to improve people and here you want to go to bed at night.

But he apologised to Ms Rolle for any pain the venture might have caused. "I'm devastated that something that was meant to be incredible, turned out to be such a disaster and hurt so many people", he said.

However, Hulu paid him money for the making of their documentary and Netflix payed the promotional company F**k Jerry - who promoted the failed festival - for their own documentary.

As a result, Rolle had to use $US50,000 from her own life savings to pay the staff that helped at the event.

Ja had enough, however, and hit Twitter to tell all of those who were criticizing his efforts that they didn't really know anything and that the documentary only told half of the story.

However, she says they never paid her.

But she was not the only worker to be left unpaid.

Attendees who spent thousands of dollars wound up in an island with none of the promised food, water, luxury villas or music that were advertised.

"A lot of people didn't get paid".

"He [McFarland] kept on saying, "the money's coming, the money's coming".
