Rami Malek lined up as Bond 25 villain after Oscars win

There's nothing concrete about the villain as yet, but one rumour Collider cites suggests Bond 25 will have a blind man as its antagonist.

Sources indicate that Billy Magnussen is the top choice to play the Central Intelligence Agency operative that crosses paths with Bond, though it's not known if an actual offer is on the table.

A major new report in The Hollywood Reporter said on Bond 25: "As for the villain, sources indicate there is renewed interest in tapping recent Oscar victor Rami Malek, after it was initially thought that scheduling could not be worked out with his commitments on the final season of Mr Robot". The report comes courtesy of Collider, who state that he's in final negotiations, with his team just waiting to see if he won the Oscar in order to give them a greater bargaining chip. Previously it was thought that Malek may not be able to play the part due to scheduling conflicts related to shooting the final season of Mr. Robot.

Rami had been asked earlier this year if he was going to play the villain in the next Bond film but he said he was keeping "tight lipped" about it. It's being directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga, after Danny Boyle vacated the role past year; its latest predicted release date is April 8, 2020.

In addition, producers are seeking talent for a new Central Intelligence Agency agent role.

Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for more information on Bond 25 and other film and television shows news. According to Variety, Magnussen is being eyed to play a Central Intelligence Agency operative in the film, although it's unknown at this stage if an offer has been made.

The last developments on Bond 25 was less than two weeks ago, when reports said that The Bourne Ultimatum writer Scott Z. Burns had been tapped for a script "overhaul", which likely led to the release date being pushed again.

Bond 25 will bring back Naomie Harris, Ben Whishaw and Ralph Fiennes as Bond's MI6 teammates Moneypenny, Q, and M (respectively).

Also in the report it's claimed that Fukunaga submitted his latest draft at the start of 2019.

French star Lea Seydoux, who played psychologist Madeleine Swann in Sam Mendes' "Spectre", is also returning.
