Windows 10 may soon automatically uninstall broken Windows Updates

The notifications are supposed to make you aware that the end of support is approaching

There have been some notably bad updates automatically foisted upon Windows 10 users in recent history, but when bad things happen Windows can often automatically recover, or users can pop into safe mode and dig out the offending software/update.

Windows 10 endures enjoys a near constant stream of updates and patches to, as Microsoft put it, "keep your device secure and running at peak efficiency". Unfortunately from time to time, the installation process for these updates doesn't go smoothly.

The new feature is created to spot if Windows has failed to start and cross-reference it against any updates to Windows-as-a-Service that have been installed, and if necessary, restore to the "last good configuration".

'Majority of Madrid players have delivered, some have not' - Solari
Solari walked into Wednesday's Champions League game against Ajax with a knife over his head as rumours of a successor for the job have already been doing the rounds.

So, you've spent your life savings on a mammoth rig; everything runs butter-smooth; and bam, you're hit with a crippling Windows 10 update that brings your gaming performance to a crawl.

Should the user decide to continue to use Windows 7 after its support expiration on January 14th, the operating system will no longer receive security updates and could be subject to numerous vulnerabilities and exploits.

In a recently published support document, Microsoft explains that Windows may attempt to roll back recently downloaded updates in the event of startup failure. Surface Go will be the first device in the Surface lineup to preview this feature. After 30 days, Windows will again try to install the updates. I would hope that admins will be able to turn off the notification for endpoints to avoid an influx of support tickets about the upgrades but it's not explicitly clear if this is the case.
