Spotify Is Testing A New Two-Person Subscription Plan

Spotify trials subscription plan for two called Premium Duo

Premium Duo, will give each person a separate premium account with all the standard benefits as well as the new Duo Mix feature.

The bundle offers two Premium subscriptions at a significantly discounted rate. Spotify confirmed that Premium Duo is a thing in a statement to The Verge, which notes that the subscription runs €12.49, falling right in between the €9.99 Spotify charges for an individual Premium account and the €14.99 its family plan costs. On Thursday, however, the Swedish-based company announced it's now testing a cheaper subscription version that would be just for two people - say, a husband and wife or two roommates - who would otherwise be stuck having to buy two individual subscriptions. This represents a saving of 2.5 euros (~$2.80) every month over the regular family plan and a much more substantial 7.5 euros (~$8.40) saving over two individual subscriptions. The accounts are treated separately, allowing you both to listen to the music you prefer. But there is a catch.

Existing premium members can upgrade to Duo along with all their playlists and saved music.

Prosecutors Drop Charges Against "Empire" Actor Jussie Smollett
Throughout all this, Smollett has maintained his innocence. "This is a whitewash of justice ". Glandian admitted though that Smollett did tell police his attacker had white or pale skin.

This prevents friends who don't live under the same roof from sharing Duo or Family plans and splitting the costs. The auto-generated playlist, similar to the Daily Mix, is filled and updated with music Spotify thinks you will both enjoy.

Premium is now available in Colombia, Chile, Denmark, Ireland and Poland, and is available to both existing and new Spotify users - though both users must live in the same residence.

It's certainly welcome to see Spotify move into more granular subscription territory and away from one-size-fits-all kinds of pricing.
