Twitter expands dark mode options on iOS

Now in addition to the blue-gray dark mode that the app already had, it now has a "Lights Out" mode as well as an automatic dark mode. With a simple radio button, you can enable the dark mode on the respective app. That has finally arrived.

Twitter already had a dark mode for its users, but today the company decided to make it even darker with its new "Lights out" function.

The so-called "Lights Out" setting darkens the existing Dark Mode and is rolling out as an update today.

Twitter rolled out Dark Mode for Android and iOS users a while back, and now it's bringing a new additional "Lights Out" option to iOS. The Lights Out feature is only limited to iOS devices for now but is soon expected to come to Android and desktop as well. Check out our new dark mode. This one had promised a dark mode that really spared your battery.

According to Engadget, the dark mode is only available to iOS users at the moment. On the other hand, the Lights Out mode consist of pure Black colour. Select the latter to get a black background. The text dominant platform is fixing the previously offered Night Mode which had dark blue shade. It also means that OLED displays will directly turn off pixels, thus providing true-black tones and saving a bit of battery in the process which is always a good thing. Recent reports suggested that dark mode is also coming to Google Keep (aka Keep Notes), while it remains to be seen if the same will happen with Gmail. There is, however, no clarity as to when the feature will exactly be available.
