Mick Schumacher makes F1 testing debut with Ferrari

It was always the plan to switch between cars over the two days and he got another 70 laps of F1 experience under his belt while setting the sixth fastest time.

Two-time world champion Fernando Alonso completed his brief return to F1 with another 69 laps of tyre testing. "It felt like home in the garage from the very first moment with a lot of people that know me since I was very young", said Schumacher.

Schumacher continued on from his impressive debut for Ferrari on Tuesday by setting an nearly identical lap time in the Alfa Romeo on Wednesday to finish sixth of the 15 drivers to head out on track.

Schumacher is backed strongly by Ferrari, for whom his father won five world championships, and managed by Nicolas Todt, the son of FIA president Jean Todt.

He finished eighth in the feature race and sixth in the sprint race.

Schumacher said he found Ferrari's 2019 vehicle "incredible because of the power it has but it is also smooth to drive".

Former two-time world champion Fernando Alonso, meanwhile, also took part in Tuesday's sessions, the second McLaren vehicle being used for a Pirelli tyre test.

"I was feeling like I could even brake at the 50-metre board at Turn 1, but obviously that's not possible". Todt said in Bahrain when asked about Charles Leclerc, another of his drivers, and Schumacher.

Setback for Erdogan as Turkish opposition regains Ankara
The opposing camp led by the Republican People's Party, or CHP , had 37.6 percent, Anadolu reported. In the days leading up to the vote, Erdogan held around 100 rallies across the country.

More than 12 years after Formula One great Michael Schumacher drove his last race for Ferrari, his son has shown he might be ready to carry on the family legacy.

But final bragging rights for the fastest lap of Bahrain's in-season test would go to Mercedes and George Russell, the Brit clocking in with a 1m29.029s under his belt.

The performance is likely to generate even more excitement about the prospect of seeing a Schumacher driving in Ferrari's famed red vehicle again.

Michael Schumacher was severely injured in a skiing accident in 2013 from which he is still in recovery. He set the ninth fastest time by the end of the day with 135 laps.

Alonso retired from F1 in 2018 but remained as an ambassador and adviser to McLaren and was conducting the Pirelli tyre test in this capacity.

The 20-year-old has enjoyed a rapid rise through the lower classes of motorsport, and won the Formula 3 European Championship last year. He has been clear he wants to help the team develop the vehicle and has not ruled out a return to F1.

Alonso said: "It's a step forward in every aspect of the auto".

The Williams driver, who is in the Mercedes driver academy, recorded a 1:29:029, finishing ahead of Sergio Perez in second and Sebastian Vettel in third, driving for Racing Point and Ferrari respectively. The vehicle has more grip, the auto is less draggy on the straights, the engine is a big step better as well.
