Toddler locks dad’s iPad for more than 25 million minutes

A toddler getting to grips with a tablet

A man was locked out of his iPad for nearly a half of a century after his toddler got a hold of it. Great, he'll have something to keep him occupied in the retirement home.

Feature: According to CNN, the lockout feature is for security that will kick in when someone repeatedly enters the wrong password again and again without getting it right.

Others were nonsensical: "Put it in a bag of rice".

One said, "Reboot your 3 y.o".

One commenter had a novel idea: "Time travel seems to be your best bet".

So what does Apple suggest?

Thankfully, there is a solution, even if you are locked out of your iPad for half a century (although you're out of luck if you haven't backed up your device).

"It's down a few hundred minutes from yesterday, but it looks like we've still got 25 million minutes to go", he told the newspaper. And unfortunately for Evan, his iPad was apparently running an older version of iOS that would not allow a fresh restart from iTunes.

Osnos sought help from the geniuses on Twitter by sharing a post with a photograph of the disabled iPad. "Now restoring. Thanks to those who shared advice!"
