Where Is Sol Pais From? Columbine Threat Maker History

Sol Pais

Our sister paper in Denver, Westword, first reported on the threats yesterday, four days short of the April 20 Columbine anniversary.

Columbine High in Littleton and several schools in the area were earlier placed on a "lockout", the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office tweeted.

She was last seen in the foothills of Jefferson County, west of Denver, AP reports, and was considered extremely risky and not to be approached.

Pais was last seen in the Jefferson County foothills and is considered extremely risky.

Pais "has expressed an infatuation with Columbine", Dean Phillips, the special agent in charge of the FBI Denver division, said in a press conference on Tuesday night, referring to the Columbine High School massacre in which 13 people were killed.

Earlier on Tuesday, an Federal Bureau of Investigation bulletin said authorities lacked probable cause for a formal arrest but that law enforcement should detain Pais for a mental-health evaluation.

Authorities said Pais traveled from Miami to Colorado Monday night, and was last seen in the Denver area.

Sol Pais, who wasn't alive when Columbine happened, is supposedly "infatuated" with the massacre.

Two heavily armed gunmen killed 12 fellow students and a teacher before taking their own lives on 20 April 1999, setting off an era of mass shootings in United States schools and other public venues.

Her presence led officials to lock the doors at Columbine and about 20 other schools to as classes were held Tuesday.

FBI hunts woman 'infatuated' with Columbine massacre who threatened school

Following a lockdown at Columbine High School and other Denver area schools, authorities say they are looking for a woman suspected of making threats.

School officials say the doors were locked but classes were continuing at Columbine and two other nearby schools and at other schools farther away in the same district. "We want our schools to be a safe place for kids to learn".

Students leave Columbine High School late Tuesday, April 16, 2019, in Littleton, Colo.

Pais has not been charged with any crime, but Phillips said, "Our priority is to find miss Pais".

"She was very quiet, always wearing black, never talking, always by herself", student Ilan Drai said. "She was then taken to an area where she was last seen out towards the foothills and we've been trying to find her ever since". The FBI described her "extremely unsafe".

Pais was "no longer a threat to the community", Patricia Billinger, a spokeswoman for Colorado's Public Safety Department told Reuters.

Jefferson County school officials tweeted that all students and staff were safe and students would be released on a normal schedule.

Agents believe Pais is "infatuated with [the] Columbine school shooting" and traveled to Colorado, buying a shotgun before disappearing. "Multiple schools are on lockout in Columbine area and Mountains". "I know that this opens a wound, especially on an anniversary week, for those families that were most deeply impacted by this".

"She has made some concerning comments in the past. and because of that we were concerned", he said.
