Trump accuses New York Times of a 'virtual act of treason'

In a pair of tweets Monday night - the eve of formally announcing his re-election bid - Mr. Trump said U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement would next week "begin the process of removing the millions of illegal aliens who have illicitly found their way into the United States".

The placement of the malware deep within the Russian grid is something that had never been attempted previously, the Times reported, adding that it is intended partly as a test to put the United States in a position to conduct cyber attacks should a significant conflict arise with Russia.

Pentagon and intelligence officials were hesitant to tell Trump about the details of the operations against Russian Federation as there was concern over how Trump would react, officials said. It also comes after reports of offensive U.S. cyberattacks against Russian Federation during the mid-term election.

Police departments in Northern Virginia are weighing in after President Donald Trump tweeted that the mass deportation of illegal immigrants would begin next week.

This particular claim, whether true or not, is another instance of the long-running campaign spearheaded by the Times and a section of the military-intelligence apparatus to portray Trump as either a dupe or an outright agent of Russian President Vladimir Putin, who can not be trusted with the most important secrets of American imperialist skullduggery against Russia. In response, Trump has shot out several tweets since the weekend, calling them "fake news" who "try to dissect and distort every word in as negative a way as possible".

The bottom line is the president is taking aggressive action against Russian Federation.

Some analysts have cast aspersions on the reporting, and Trump himself has previously dismissed allegations that these kinds of increased cyber retaliations had taken place.

The president, on June 15, disputed the claims laid out by The New York Times and accused them of being "desperate".

Last summer, the president signed a directive giving United States cybercommand more leeway to carry out offensive operations without presidential approval.

While the USA gov has never publically disclosed any information on exactly what actions have been taken in the past, national security adviser John Bolton said last week that the country is now changing its strategy and taking an aggressive offensive stance in cyberspace against adversaries engaged in cyberoperations against the country.

Trump refuted the NYT report earlier, suggesting that the story came close to amounting to treason.

Guatemala, Trump added, is close to signing a "Safe-Third Agreement", which means migrants fleeing from Honduras and El Salvador would be required to seek asylum there first before in the U.S. Trump's reaction to the New York Times reportTrump was outraged by the article even though the information it contains is actually available if not widely circulated.
