Mozilla Releases Emergency Patch For Firefox Zero-Day Exploit

SECURITY ALERT: Update Your Firefox Browser Right Now

'We are aware of targeted attacks in the wild abusing this flaw'.

Firefox 67.0.3 is a security release for the Stable channel of the web browser.

In any case, you can download the new Firefox version via the official Mozilla download portal.

Philip Martin explained on Twitter that the security team "walked back" the entire attack and reported the zero-day to Firefox.

Due to the severity of this vulnerability and the fact that it was already used in targeted attacks, it is imperative that users upgrade to Firefox 67.0.4 immediately.

There's been a shooting at the Raptors celebration in Nathan Phillips Square
He will not march because "the parade is about the players and, more importantly, the fans", according to Ford's press secretary. During the 6 games played against the Golden State Warriors, Toronto had the support of the nation behind them.

The bug is what's known as a "type confusion vulnerability", which in a nutshell is a piece of code that doesn't verify the type of object or resource - think a pointer or a variable data - and then blindly uses an incompatible object causing a program crash.

A zero-day is a vulnerability in computer software that can remain unknown to those who provide and use that software for several days or weeks, yet - if discovered by hackers - can provide the opportunity to exploit that weakness for mischief or profit.

In the above statement, Mozilla has admitted to targeted attacks exploiting the flaw, so you can ensure you're on the latest version of Mozilla by restarting your browser to update automatically. Aside from saying that the security issue is being actively exploited, Mozilla is now being (understandably) sparing with details.

The Coinbase security boss noted that the attack was not successful, and so far there is no evidence that any Coinbase customers were hit.
