Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Wants to Dismantle Department of Homeland Security

In response to Speaker Nancy Pelosi's assertion that Ocasio-Cortez and her trio of useful idiots - Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib, and Ayanna Pressley - are masters at promoting themselves on social-media platforms, AOC responded by asserting that Pelosi was "singling out newly elected women of color".

Rep. William Lacy Clay (D., Mo.), who is black, called out Ocasio-Cortez for her comments on Pelosi.

"It was such a weak argument to say she was being picked on and that four women of color were being picked on by the speaker", Clay said.

"I believed the canker sores they said were in their mouths because they weren't receiving proper nutrition".

She regretted that Ocasio-Cortez was airing her grievances on Twitter instead of meeting with her face-to-face. Pelosi later caved to Republicans and allowed the House to pass the Senate version of the bill, which lacked numerous protections progressive Democrats had sought.

Ocasio-Cortez has 4.7 million Twitter followers.

"Didn't realize this needed to be said, but: you can be someone who does not personally harbor ill will towards a race, but through your actions still enable a racist system". Trump has said many migrants who've fled Central American are "living far better" in detention centers than they were at home and has said the stations are "run beautifully", though visiting lawmakers, attorneys, journalists and the government's own inspectors have reported foul conditions.

Though one wishes this needless distraction could conclude, and soon, so that the Democratic majority in the House could go about its business rather than publicly bickering, that, sadly, isn't likely to happen. Ayanna Pressley of Massachusetts, Ilhan Omar of Minnesota and Rashida Tlaib of MI - appeared to reach a boiling point in recent days after the speaker criticized the the congresswomen for their decision vote against a bill to send $4.5 billion in emergency aid to the nation's southern border.

Deutsche Bank Begins a Massive Transformation - Cuts 18 000 Jobs
However, it has struggled to compete with USA rivals, hampered by regulatory investigations and litigation. One senior banker, still in a job , questioned how well the slimmed down franchise in Asia would compete.

Pelosi, meanwhile, refused to provide further comment on the feud while discussing it during her weekly press briefing.

Ocasio-Cortez's chief of staff Saikat Chakrabarti took to Twitter and complained that Democrats were propping up a broken system that "fuels a racist ideology". Two members of the coalition are African American lawmakers who lived through segregation. "For them to call her a racist is a disgrace". We're not talking about just progressives, it's signaling out four individuals.

A progressive House aide told CNN that they have never seen members picked on by a speaker this much before.

A member of the Congressional Black Caucus, Clay has served in the House since 2001. Pelosi had criticized Reps. "We have kids in cages", said Rep. Pramila Jayapal, D-Wash., co-chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, who said she was frustrated by the ongoing situation.

He said by not toughening immigration laws, House Democrats have "created the very magnet" that attracts migrants to the USA and said the chamber "cowardly sits in the corner, doing nothing" to address the problems that result.

Ocasio-Cortez doubled down on her pushback, implying that Pelosi's rhetoric might be motivated by racial animus. It has no place in a civil discussion.

"When these comments first started, I kind of thought that she was keeping the progressive flank at more of an arm's distance in order to protect more moderate members, which I understood", Ocasio-Cortez told the Post.
