Google Experiment Shoelace Wants To Localize Your Social Networking

Google’s taking another crack at building a social network

Shoelace is limited for testing in NY.

Once users have listed their interests, it will recommend some hand-picked local activities, which it calls "Loops". Nevertheless, Shoelace is aimed at growing your group of friends by matching you with people with the same interests and hobbies.

In the past years, Google launched a number of Social Networking platforms such as Orkut, Google Buzz, Google+ etc. Google+ was recently shut down by Google as people were not that much interested in it. They will also suggest activities and events that you can attend and do together, from pick up sports games to comedy shows around the town, etc. It also matches users based on their interests and makes it easy to plan and meet for events.

Manchester United staff who collapsed in Perth reportedly named as Mark Dempsey
United kick off their pre-season fixture list with a match against Perth Glory on Saturday - and Lukaku is now a doubt. Asked why he saw Pogba as captaincy material, Solskjaer replied: "Well, I don't think that needs explaining".

Described by Google as an app that "helps connect people with shared interests through in-person activities", Shoelace is available only as a mobile app on Android (v.8.0 or newer) and iOS (v11.0 or higher) devices, but is only being offered to select users in the United States on an invite-only basis. This time around, instead of going for an all out social media network that is meant to compete with Facebook, Google is going for something decidedly smaller scale and a lot more community oriented. It can be accessed only by invitations and the people living in New York City for the time being. The app will further ask you to join the community after proper verification of your profile.

The new social app is created by Area 120, which is Google's development laboratory.

Now let us see if Shoelace can live up to the reputation of being a "Google" product or watch for how long Google flirts and kills it. Google's Area 120 Incubator handles Google's experimental offerings and Shoelace is the latest to be about to be launched. You don't need to try installing APK because you can't signup without an invite. Now, the search giant has tried again in the arena with a new app called Shoelace.
