Lineup for Detroit Democratic presidential debate finalized

The first night of the debate on July 30 will feature the two top candidates vying for the far-left lane in the race, Sen.

On Thursday night, CNN held a live lottery draw to announced the nightly lineup for the upcoming Democratic debate on July 30 and 31. Warren was relegated to debating candidates barely polling above 1 percent, including New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio and former Rep. John Delaney (D-MD). Elizabeth Warren, author Marianne Williamson and businessman Andrew Yang.

The 10 candidates debating on the first night will be U.S. Sen.

Meanwhile, Sens. Bernie Sanders of Vermont and Elizabeth Warren of MA lead the July 30 lineup, allowing the two progressive icons to compete directly for the affections of the party's left flank.

Sanders and Warren will be joined by South Bend, Ind., Mayor Pete Buttigieg, former congressman Beto O'Rourke, Minnesota Sen. The top fundraiser in Colorado was former governor John Hickenlooper, followed by the state's current us senator Michael Bennet.

CNN picked the lineup in an on-air drawing Thursday. That will make for odd optics on Night One and also potentially creates a hard position for Biden, given the exchange over school integration in the first debate. Biden and Buttigieg represent the generational poles of the crowded Democratic presidential primary.

About 125,000 customers in Louisiana and another 6,800 customers in MS were without power Sunday , according to Keep alert to the possible issuance of a flash flood watch by the National Weather Service on Tuesday .

Here's who will grace the stage: Colorado Sen.

The entry qualifications for the third debate in September will roughly double and candidates will be required to make the cut in both polling and donors, not simply one category.

But based on public information, it had been clear for days that Moulton, Messam, Steyer and Sestak were the four candidates likely to miss the debate stage. Now, Bullock is celebrating that he will make the second contest.

"The main issue with [Warren] is that she hasn't been doing events, and I'm not saying this on behalf of myself, but I think for some people having that opportunity to meet her is really important", Dale Schroedel, a political organizer and former Clinton fundraiser, told Politico. Overall, the only change in the ranks of the 20 debate participants is that Montana Governor Steve Bullock has replaced Eric Swalwell, who withdrew earlier this month.

The DNC announced in February that candidates could qualify by either meeting a grassroots fundraising threshold or polling threshold. If a candidate does not hit both benchmarks, they will be off the stage.

"Grateful for another chance to talk about our grassroots movement at CNN's Democratic presidential debate on July 30th", the Massachusetts Democrat tweeted after the lineup was finalized.
