Liverpool to sign former West Ham goalkeeper Adrian following Simon Mignolet exit

Adrian previously played for West Ham but left this summer

"I think this is the ideal solution for us in this moment, replacing talent and experience like for like", Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp said of Adrian "With Ali and Simon, I felt like we had two No. 1s and in many ways we have repeated that with Adrian". Here, Liverpool have signed Adrian...

Liverpool are closing in on the signing of former West Ham United goalkeeper Adrian to replace Simon Mignolet, who completed a £6.5m move to Club Brugge over the weekend.

The 32-year-old made 125 Premier League appearances for West Ham during his time in the East End.

Mignolet, the Belgium global, said his goodbyes to Liverpool's squad at Wembley on Sunday night before heading to Luton Airport to take a private jet to Brussels.

10 killed including gunman in Dayton mass shooting, hours after Texas massacre
"The shooter was able to kill nine people and injure 26 in less than a minute", Whaley said during a news conference Sunday. We'll no doubt be receiving updates throughout the day, but this attack seems to fall into a pattern with others we've seen.

And now Klopp will make a late swoop in the market to find a replacement, who can act as a back up to obvious first choice Alisson Becker.

The Reds will face Norwich City in the opening game of the Premier League campaign on Friday, and Klopp does not want to be without a reserve goalkeeper for the game.

If Adrian does arrive he would join teenagers Sepp van den Berg and Harvey Elliott in signing for the European champions this summer.

Adrian was a free agent after leaving West Ham when his contract expired following six years in the capital and he chose not to extend his stay at the London Stadium after losing his place to Lukasz Fabianski.
