Barr says 'irregularities' found at Epstein jail

Bill Barr Allegedly Made Secret Visit to Jail Before Epstein's Death: 'Something's Not Right There'

Epstein's cell was not regularly monitored the night he is believed to have killed himself, a source with knowledge of Epstein's time at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in NY told CNN.

Jeffrey Epstein was the target of death threats from fellow inmates during his stay at Manhattan's Metropolitan Correctional Center. and should have been watched 24/7. this according to multiple sources connected with the investigation.

The official story that it was a suicide was initially disseminated by much of the mainstream media-including the New York Post, whose first report Saturday morning began, "Convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein died overnight in an apparent suicide, federal officials said".

Speaking at a police conference in New Orleans, Barr said he was angry to learn that staffers at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in NY had "failed to adequately secure this prisoner".

Epstein was put on the prison's suicide watch after he was discovered on July 23rd with neck bruises, according to several reports.

"'We will get to the bottom of what happened at the MCC", Barr said in a statement, "and we will hold people accountable for this failure".

In a statement, Young said that teachers, clerical workers and other support staff are regularly used to fill in for guards, and many guards are regularly forced to work 70- and 80-hour weeks.

Both the FBI and the Justice Department's Inspector General have launched independent investigations into the circumstances of Epstein's death, which was reportedly the result of hanging.

Our sources say. despite being taken off suicide watch, there was concern for Epstein's safety in the Special Housing Unit - the SHU - and he was supposed to be watched around the clock.

As previously reported by FOX Business, the 66-year-old was friends with a number of influential people, including politicians and business leaders.

Along with the luggage a garment bag with feathers peeking out could be seen. "My house is covered in ROSES!" she captioned the Instagram video.

"Mr. Epstein's death raises serious questions that must be answered", U.S. Attorney General William Barr said in a statement on Saturday.

USA authorities have said Epstein also had a residence in Paris and used a fake Austrian passport to travel to France in the 1980s.

Clinton spokesman Angel Ureña said the former president "knows nothing about the awful crimes Jeffrey Epstein pleaded guilty to in Florida some years ago, or those with which he has been recently charged in NY".

In 2007, Epstein faced a 53-count federal indictment which could have sent him to prison for life, but he struck a secret plea deal with the help of prosecutor Alexander Acosta, who recently resigned as Labor Secretary.

Nebraska Sen. Ben Sasse, a Republican member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, wrote Saturday in a scathing letter to Barr that "heads must roll" after the incident.

In addition, the decision to remove an inmate from suicide watch would normally have to have been OK'd by the jail's suicide prevention program coordinator and then approved by the warden, according to NBC News, which cited protocols.

"Let me assure you that this case will continue on against anyone who was complicit with Epstein".

The details of how Epstein died in his Manhattan jail cell over the weekend have yet to be released, but medical officials have performed an autopsy on the high-profile inmate accused of sexually abusing underage girls.

Epstein's July 6 arrest drew national attention, particularly focusing on a deal that allowed him to plead guilty in 2008 to soliciting a minor for prostitution in Florida and avoid more serious federal charges.
