Canada: Manhunt Ends With Two Bodies Found Near Gillam

Manitoba RCMP finds bodies believed to be those of murder suspects

Authorities located two male bodies and are confident they are 19-year-old Kam McLeod and 18-year-old Bryer Schmegelsky, said Royal Canadian Mounted Police Assistant Commissioner Jane MacLatchy.

"The search is over".

Moving forward, there will still be an autopsy in Winnipeg to "confirm [the bodies'] identities and to determine their cause of death".

The two were also charged with the murder of Leonard Dyck, of Vancouver, who was found dead at a highway pullout south of the same province's Stikine River Bridge. They were also suspected of gunning down a young tourist couple: Lucas Fowler, 23, an Australian, and Chynna Deese, 24, an American.

Days later, the RCMP said the two teenagers were considered suspects in the murders of Ms Deese and Mr Fowler, which took place 500 kilometres away from where Mr Dyck was found, near Liard Hot Spring.

"I don't want to be rude, but he was kind of a weird kid", she said.

"He would say things about how he would cut our heads off and then he would take a gun and put it in his mouth and shoot himself in front of us", she said.

The two were wanted on second degree murder charges for the killing of Leonard Dyck, who was found a few kilometres from the teens' burned-out pickup truck on Highway 37 near Dease Lake.

Patrick Roberts and Mikael Lustig react as Celtic sell star to Arsenal
Unai Emery was reportedly working with a £45m transfer budget but they spent almost £140m, with Nicolas Pepe heading the bill. He set it during his medical despite now being sidelined for another six weeks as he recovers from a double hernia operation.

"Following this discovery, we were at last able to narrow down the search", MacLatchy said. At about 10 a.m. on Wednesday, two bodies were found in dense brush, about a kilometer from where the items were found.

The remote community had been the focus of an exhaustive investigative effort to locate McLeod, 19, and Schmegelsky, whose 19th birthday was August 4, after key evidence and a confirmed sighting traced them to the unbridled wilderness of northern Manitoba. Police search that area. Later, they said they'd separately found "items directly linked to the suspects" that same day on the shoreline.

Half-eaten pork chops and orange peels were found alongside the gutted vehicle, suggesting they had one final meal before heading to their final resting spot at the shoreline of the Nelson River near Gillam.

While fleeing the police, the teens also allegedly set a second vehicle on fire in Manitoba, more than 2,000 miles from the original murders took place.

Police haven't said whether the boat is connected to the teens, and they haven't said what those other items were.

"Obviously I'd like to know why and, of course, you'd like to see the people punished". "All he ever said to me was how he wanted to kill me and ways he would do it".

Schmegelsky's father, labeled his son's cat-and-mouse chase with police a "suicide mission", adding that he thought his "introvert" son would go out in a "blaze of glory" when he encounters police, according to the Canadian Press.

In accused killers' B.C. hometown, question looms: Who were Kam McLeod and Bryer Schmegelsky?
