Syracuse ranked in preseason AP Poll for first time since 1998

Best of the 2010s Alabama’s dynasty Clemson’s arrival and a decade of stunning finishes

Trevor Lawrence, Tua Tagovailoa, Jake Fromm, Jonathan Taylor, Chase Young and others typically make up most "best players in college football" lists.

UC Davis was two spots behind the Eagles with a fifth-place preseason poll ranking.

Oklahoma has been a mainstay in the Preseason AP Top 10 the past two decades, beginning the season among the top-10 teams in 17 of the past 19 seasons.

Penn State football landed at No. 15 in the first AP Top 25 poll of the 2019 college football season. The Sooners also are the No. 4 team in the Preseason Coaches Poll entering the 2019 season. The rest of the top 10 is rounded out by LSU at No. 6, MI at No. 7, Florida at No. 8, Notre Dame at No. 9 and Texas at No. 10.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer explains differences between this season and last
Manchester United , following their comfortable 4-0 win over Chelsea , face Wolves at Molineux Stadium on Monday Night. The Serie A transfer window remains open until 23 August, one day before the start of the new season.

Texas at No. 10 and Iowa State at No. 21 are the other Big 12 representatives in the preseason poll.

ACC schools Miami (Fla.), Virginia and Virginia Tech received votes for the poll but did not crack the top 25.

Oklahoma's all-time average starting point in the Associated Press preseason poll is 6.6, according to the OU athletic department, higher than any team in the country.

MI will start the season ranked seventh, and it seems like a good spot for them to start out this season. That is the most from any conference. TCU is the top Big 12 team among those receiving votes with 57 points (31st overall).
