Maybe don’t keep your Apple Card in a leather wallet, Apple warns

Close-up of hands using metallic payments card and holding white smartphone

Much of Apple Card's functionality is connected to its Apple Pay system, which has increasingly become a relevant driver of revenue for the tech giant. The company first announced the Goldman-Sachs backed credit card back in March and is now shipping it out to the masses in the US. It's primarily meant to be a virtual card running inside the Wallet app, but it is also a fully fledged MasterCard, backed by Goldman Sachs, and cardholders can request a physical card to accompany their virtual one. If you would like to keep it looking new, however, Apple recommends wiping it gently with isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol using a soft microfiber cloth. So if the Apple Card comes into contact with any hard surfaces or materials, it's possible that the coating can be damaged.

Because it's a credit card with a magnetic stripe, Apple Card should also not be stored or placed near magnets as the strip could become demagnetized. "It makes me laugh to think of treating a credit card as a piece of jewelry and cleaning them with a soft cloth". You, as a true Apple stan, have set aside an entire sleeve of your leather wallet so that your Apple Card may rest easy on its own personal bed of lambskin.

The titanium Apple Card, the company explains, is "laser-etched with the card holder's name and the Apple logo".

Keep up with the Apple Card via its dedicated Twitter account, which launched in April but has tweeted only once since this week's nationwide expansion. Primarily a digital product, Cupertino also offers a stylish physical card crafted of titanium. But while the card is compatible with Apple's virtual wallet, it is apparently not compatible with your actual wallet.

USA gives Huawei another 90 days to serve existing customers
The company spent $15 billion previous year on research and development, more than Apple Inc. or Microsoft Corp. The directive went into effect May 16th, 2019 and all USA companies working with Huawei had to comply.

But the cleaning isn't even the juicy part. Customers typically get 2% cash back when using Apple's app to pay.

The company said in a support document that some fabrics can stain the card and get rid of the coveted shine that is likely a draw for many users. The Apple Card has only launched in the USA for now.

Apple has previously been criticised for making products that are aesthetically pleasing but easily damaged in everyday use.
