Third Instance of Trudeau in Brownface Surfaces in 24 Hour Period

Photo of Justin Trudeau wearing brownface at 2001 party published by Time Magazine

Trudeau, once the youthful golden boy of Canadian politics, also admitted to wearing dark makeup singing Harry Belafonte´s 1950s hit Day O (Banana Boat Song) at a separate high school talent contest. What's wild is the photo has existed in the 2000-2001 yearbook of West Point Grey Academy, and is just now coming to light 18 years later, obtained by Time magazine on September 18.

"I shouldn't have done that". He says he is an ally to visible minorities and it is something he deeply regrets and shouldn't have done. "It's not about timing, it's about something I shouldn't have done", Justin said contritely.

New Democratic Party leader Jagmeet Singh has also slammed Trudeau, labelling the image "troubling" and "insulting". Conservatives pointed out Trudeau's blatant hypocrisy; the Prime Minister is known for openly chiding his countrymen - especially conservatives - who do not use "inclusive" language or embrace his "progressive" ideals.

Scheer, speaking at an airport tarmac in Sherbrooke, Quebec, said: "Like all Canadians, I was extremely shocked and disappointed when I learned of Justin Trudeau's actions this evening".

Pressed by reporters, he says what he did was racist because it is hurtful to people of colour, who experience oppression he himself has never faced.

There was plenty of time between 2001 and today for the Liberal Leader to acknowledge that in the past he had worn an offensive, racist costume, that he had acted thoughtlessly, but that life is a progress toward greater enlightenment.

Liberal Party spokesperson Zita Astravas confirmed to Time that the photo is authentic.

"I think the real measure of the man, and I think the thing we need to be talking about, is all the awesome things we have done for diversity", Fergus said.

Saudi Arabia Joins U.S.-Led Coalition to Protect Oil Shipping
Donald Trump tweeted on Wednesday that he instructed the Treasury Secretary to "substantially increase" sanctions on Iran. On Wednesday, Iranian state media reported that Rouhani and his delegation were having trouble obtaining USA visas.

The revelations have placed Trudeau's reelection campaign under scrutiny, and the story has dominated Canadian media since TIME published the exclusive after obtaining a copy of the school's yearbook, which included a photograph of the incident, earlier this month.

As a leader on the global stage, Trudeau said his focus is now moving forward. He apologised after video of the exchange was made public.

With campaigning underway, Mr Trudeau has been struggling to move beyond a recent political interference scandal.

Mr Trudeau would have been in his late teens or early 20s.

Trudeau was expected to speak to reporters about the photo later tonight.

The picture depicts the now-Liberal leader alongside four young women - his hands draped over one of them - in what appear to be cocktail dresses, none dressed as elaborately as Trudeau.

He said he has always been more enthusiastic about costumes than is "sometimes appropriate".

This is worse than that time he insisted on only wearing traditional garb on a trip to India.
