Brexit: Anna Soubry says delay reveal shows Boris Johnson's 'untrustworthiness'

Boris Johnson will be challenged in the Scottish court

The European Parliament's Brexit Steering Group rejects British Prime Minister Boris Johnson's proposal.

Just over a week after a British Supreme Court ruling that Johnson had suspended parliament unlawfully and weeks before the deadline, anti-Brexit campaigners again turned to judges to try to ensure the exit will be delayed if no deal to smooth the transition has been agreed.

On Friday night he tweeted "new deal or no deal - but no delay".

A spokesman for the PM said his chief negotiator David Frost was now locked in "technical level" talks in Brussels to determine whether a deal could be struck in the coming days.

There are now two cases at the Scottish court in which plaintiffs want to legally force Johnson to continue the Brexit negotiations.

Johnson has said he will abide by the new law, known as the "Benn Act". The claimants are also requesting, in a case to be heard next Tuesday, that the Court of Session (Inner House)-which has more powers to exercise its authority-rule that a judge or civil servant would be able to sign the letter to the European Union on behalf of Johnson if he fails to do so by October 17. He has not explained the apparent contradiction in his comments. Ireland Taoiseach Leo Varadkar said in a statement that Johnson's "proposals do not fully meet the agreed objectives of the backstop".

In a dual legal pincer, Scotland's highest civil court will hear two cases in the space of five days that could compel Boris Johnson to extend the negotiations. "The court was being asked to order him to do it (seek the extension), and if he does not act as parliament has mandated, there will be consequences for him personally". In his Twitter post on 4 October, the flamboyant politician stressed that he would not seek an extension.

A US Weekly report also read , " Kylie and Travis have been on and off at various times throughout their relationship". They still have some trust issues but their problems have stemmed more from the stress of their lifestyles".

The proposals focus on maintaining an open border between the UK's Northern Ireland and European Union member Ireland - the key sticking point to a Brexit deal.

It comes after Mr Johnson insisted on Friday that he would not delay Brexit despite his lawyers saying he will comply with a law calling for the October 31 exit date to be postponed if there is no deal.

Dublin has said it can not sign up to a treaty that does not safeguard an open Irish-British border.

Johnson's willingness to embrace a "no-deal" Brexit has alarmed many lawmakers since the government's own assessment of such a scenario warns of an economic slowdown, severe delays at British ports, and possible food and medicine shortages if "no deal" becomes a reality.

On Thursday, Mrs Foster accused the Irish government of trying to "ride roughshod" over unionism, as she criticised Dublin's rejection of the UK's latest Brexit plan.

The last Prime Minister to lose a Queen's Speech vote, Stanley Baldwin in January 1924, resigned shortly afterwards.
